Duties and Taxes:

  • India typically charged 22% on top of shipment cost for duties, and 28% on top of shipment cost for taxes
  • As of 28 April, oxygen concentrators are exempted from duties
  • As of 3 May, oxygen contractors are exempted from taxes if they are imported “free of cost” for free distribution. This means if it is being donated to the government or recognized relief agencies, taxes are exempt, valid till August 31.
  • If your items are going to be sold in India, then you still have to pay taxes. The amount depends on whether you ship as an individual importer or an institution
  • Filed as Individual importer, taxes are charged at 28%
  • Filed as an institution, taxes are charged at 12%
