How It All Started: Born in a Pandemic
JustShip is a home-grown Singapore startup that launched in June 2020, during a challenging time when the world was grappling with the unprecedented impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As borders closed and international travel came to a near standstill, countless individuals found themselves separated from family and friends across the globe. The pandemic dramatically increased the need to send packages internationally as people sought to maintain connections remotely.
However, this surge in demand highlighted existing barriers that made international shipping daunting for many:
- Price discrimination resulted in exorbitant rates or snail mail delivery times for small shippers
- Packing requirements and international shipping processes were too complicated
- Queuing at the local post office was tiring and inconvenient
Recognising these challenges, Sherman and Shi Ping, along with other co-founders set a mission to make international shipping accessible to everyone.
