In this guide, we'll show you how to ship your care package with JustShip - from signing up to tracking your package.
Step 1: Sign Up & Onboard
Signing up for a JustShip account is quick and easy. To sign up, you have two convenient options:
- Google Sign-Up: One click is all it takes if you choose to sign up via Google. It's quick, it's easy, and it's secure.
- Manual Sign-Up: Just fill in your basic details and set a password. Rest assured, your information is encrypted for maximum security.
After signing up, you'll be prompted to complete a few onboarding questions.

Step 2: Verify Item Eligibility
Before you proceed to create your shipment, ensure your items are eligible for shipping to your chosen destination.
While most goods can be shipped internationally, certain items are restricted or prohibited due to safety concerns or legal restrictions. These might include dangerous materials, fresh goods, or some high-value items.
Always check the import regulations of your destination country beforehand to avoid any hiccups down the line.

Step 3: Create Shipment
Now that you've verified the eligibility of your items and perhaps found inspiration for a special occasion, you're all set to proceed.
Click "Ship Now" to go to the "Create New Shipment" page. Then, fill in the form to complete the shipment creation process.
How to create a shipment
1. Sender's Particulars
Fill in your details accurately to ensure you receive all updates or notifications related to the shipment promptly.
2. Recipient's Particulars
Provide the details of the person receiving the package. For regular shipments to the same recipient, you can save their details in your dashboard for quicker future entries.
3. Package Details
Choose your preferred packing service and give details about your package's size and weight.
To cater to various needs and preferences, here are three packing options you can choose from:
- No Need Packing: Ideal for those who've already packed their items and are ready to ship. For more tips on packing the care package yourself, check out our packing guide
- Need Packing: Starting at SGD 4, we offer packing services tailored to your item's requirements. Simply hand over your items in a disposable container, and we'll ensure they're packed according to their specific needs.
- Need Fragile Packing: For delicate items. With fees starting from SGD 4, this service adjusts its cost based on the item's size and fragility. Hand over your items in a disposable container, and we'll take care of the rest
Once you've opted for our packing services, our team will assess your items and choose the most suitable packaging, whether it's a polymailer, envelope, standard-sized carton box, customised carton box, or even a crate.
Plus, we're always mindful of the volumetric weight, ensuring it's kept to a minimum. This not only ensures the safety of your items but also helps you save on shipping costs.
When determining the dimensions of your package, ensure you measure from end to end, and don't forget to account for any bulges or irregularities in the package shape.
Also remember to leave a buffer as a 1cm deviation could move your parcel into the next 0.5kg of chargeable weight (actual or volumetric, higher of the two) and accordingly, the next price bracket.
This will help you get the most accurate quote possible to prevent any top-ups after the order has been made.
Additionally, for customs clearance, it's crucial to accurately declare each item's description and value.
Instead of providing one general description like "Used clothes, accessories, and dried food", break down the value and quantity for each item. For instance:
- Used clothes
- Used bag
- Instant noodles
- Salted egg fish skin snack
- Homemade chocolate chips cookies
4. Add-Ons & Checkout
Choose any additional services you'd like, such as insurance and DDP (Delivered Duty Paid, which means the duties and taxes are pre-paid by the sender).
Especially when sending a care package, DDP is a thoughtful choice. By pre-paying the duties and taxes, you ensure that your recipient doesn't face any unexpected costs upon receiving their care package.
While DDP and insurance are not mandatory, they're available to enhance your shipping experience and provide peace of mind.
Once you've made your selections, proceed to Checkout.
Step 3: Schedule for Pick Up/Drop Off
After checking out, you'll be directed to schedule a pick-up or drop-off for your care package. Choose a time and location that's convenient for you, ensuring your package starts its journey smoothly.
Step 4: Payment
Complete the payment process to finalise your shipment. We offer two convenient payment methods:
- PayNow: A quick and easy method. Simply make your payment using the PayNow QR code.
- Credit Card: We accept credit cards for your convenience. Please note there's a small additional transaction fee for this option.
Ensure all payment details are accurate and confirm to secure your shipment.
Preparing Your Package for Pick-Up/Drop-Off:
Before handing over your care package for pick-up or drop-off on the scheduled date, it's essential to label your package correctly with the order ID and recipient’s name.
You can write these details directly on the package or attach a post-it/paper with the information.
When your package reaches our warehouse, our team will carefully verify its dimensions and weight.
Should there be any differences between what was declared and the actual measurements, don't worry. Our transparent top-up or refund system ensures fairness.
If you've overdeclared, we'll process a refund. On the other hand, if the package is underdeclared, a top-up will be required.
Step 5: Tracking
Once your parcel is processed and handed over to FedEx, we'll promptly send you an email containing your shipment's tracking number.
To monitor the movement of your parcel and stay updated on its journey, simply enter the tracking number on the FedEx website.
